Sometimes when living in, or dealing with crisis, all we do is survive. Your basic physiological needs have to be met…eat, sleep (where you can), most of the time it’s not enough to process, but your body catches enough to function, you go to work … you have to because you need to pay your bills.
Then you deal with crises day in day out.
Maybe a sick loved one?
Maybe you are sharing the care giving.
Maybe someone close has anxiety, depression, can’t cope and because you are stronger you give all that you can.
You get compassion fatigue but you keep going.
When it’s over, then what?
Where does all that pent up emotion, the distress, the despair, the despondency go?
You clearly did not have time to process it at the time?
Science teaches us energy cannot be created or destroyed, just transferred from one form into another.
So the amount of energy in the Universe is the same.
In science, chemical reactions often release heat to the surroundings, it dissipates.
So, all these emotions because they have not been released, you’ve not had time to process them….They start to find a way through.
You’ve been like a pressure cooker, just waiting for that valve to release.
And you then, way after the events, experience
- crying
- Shouting
- Getting angry
- Tight chest
- Hard to breathe
- Anxiety
- Thoughts go random
- You feel all over the place
- Panic
- Aches and pains
- Stomach problems
- Other diseases eg autoimmune
All that pent up energy is now releasing from the physical body.
How do you manage that?
Sometimes we can manage it, sometimes we need a professional.
- Accept what happened. With no judgement
- Your body is a map – listen to what it’s trying to tell you.
*Acknowledge you have stuck emotions. - Draw your attention to it and see what it needs.
Often, it just requires you to notice and acknowledge
“I was very upset about ….”
“I felt angry about …”
“I became despondent about …”
“I felt despair because…”
And you will find it will transform and you start feeling better.
We don’t do emotions very well.
We are never taught to.
They can be painful. So we have a safety mechanism where we reposition them and out them in a “box”, and close the lid.
Trust the Universe…. If something is coming up for you now, it is because you are ready.
You are ready to transform, release and because you now need capacity for all the good things that are coming to you.
